We only ever write about and share the things we genuinely love, whether it is an awesome gift we've spotted, a great tip from an expert we trust or fantastic ideas that we know will help other aunts and godmothers.

On the occasions when we do write in partnership with another company, we always clearly mark the article.

GreatAunt.co.uk is a great idea and also a good business. We are proud to be open and honest about how we make the revenue that we need to run our free-to-use, membership free website.

Besides display advertising and the occasional paid for sponsorships, we also sometimes get paid a commission if you purchase a product or service that we link to in our content. Let's say we recommend a book and include a link so that you can find it on Amazon. If you then buy it, GreatAunt.co.uk might get a few pence commission from the sale as a thank you from Amazon.

Our team write all the articles and add in the links then we use two trustworthy companies - Skimlinks and Affiliate Window - to calculate the affiliate side of things by collecting cookies and keeping tabs on commissions.

Our mission is to publish information and inspiration to help women have the best possible relationships with the children in their lives.

competitions

From time to time Great Aunt will run competitions, free prize draws and promotions on this website.

These competitions are open to UK and Eire residents only. Entrants must be at least 18 years of age. All qualifying entrants who answer the question correctly will be placed in a free prize draw. Winners will be notified within 28 days of the draw taking place. The judges' decision is final. There is no cash alternative to the prize. Details of winners will be available upon written request.

how we pay for all of this

Great Aunt is a great idea and also a good business.

The costs associated with running our website are paid for by banner advertising and through affiliate links that take you to products we love.

Affiliate links are the ones that take you directly or indirectly to a product provider and if we are lucky we get a few pence as a consequence of you clicking through to their site or a small percentage of what products you purchase from them. We will only ever recommend things that we think are genuinely fabulous and we will only ever work with companies that we respect.

Great Aunt directors and contributors are never paid for our opinions although sometimes we receive products to review or get invited to events we don't pay for. We always disclose when this has happened and our reviews are just as honest regardless.
